A spectacular, multi-attraction museum complex, The Henry Ford encompasses five distinct attractions showcasing American history and invention in one magnificent site, including the Henry Ford Museum, a 12-acre collection of such historic objects as the rocking chair where President Lincoln was assassinated and the bus on which Rosa Parks sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The complex also features Greenfield Village, the largest outdoor museum in America, complete with nearly 100 historic buildings, such as the Ohio bicycle shop once operated by the Wright Brothers and the house where Henry Ford was born. The site also offers tours of the Ford Rouge Automobile Factory, departing from the Henry Ford Museum, the Benson Ford Research Center, and an IMAX theater, showing documentaries and feature films to visitors of all ages. Located 15 miles southwest of Detroit in Dearborn, the museum complex lies just south of the University of Michigan's Dearborn campus.
