The Dearborn Historical Museum has local history exhibits displayed in four buildings, including the 1833 Commandant's Quarters and the 1831 Gardner House, the oldest building in Dearborn. The Commandant's Quarters are located 2 blocks southwest of the main museum complex, which is less than a mile from the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Exhibits at the buildings include local Woodland Indian history, early settlement of the area and arsenal military history while various rooms in the Commandant's Quarters have been furnished to reflect life in the mid-1800s.
